Look at this load of top forty over here.
Looks like too much Flight of the Conchords mixed with a lack of charm, lack of wit, and some criiingeworthy attempts at writing do equal a rubbish ad.
You're right, everything from the tune to the voices and even the camera work seems to have been taken straight from Flight of the Conchords.
If Phones4U could afford the real band, I'm sure Coors can. There's a very thin line between a good comedy song and a very bad, cringe worthy waste of time.
With an advert like this you really have to invest in people who know what they're doing, because it's so easy to look desperate if it goes wrong.

To be fair this ad has made a serious impact upon this one consumer
...whose favourite drink may be 'drench' (because brains performs best when hydrated) but still enjoys the odd beer here or there
...and this impact can be condensed into 6 little words, 10 small syllables, 25 tiny letters and 1 powerful sentence...
I WILL NEVER DRINK COORS AGAIN!
