and the dubbing is GONE!

Welcome back Cillit Bang adverts. Well, I say welcome; what I mean is more: "Oh, hello again.....nice weather...like a tea?"

The initial idea of the ad anti-hero was good. The prince of pointless, the soldier of shoutiness, the infinite imbecile of infomercials (etc) ranting in an over the top way lent itself to a cult hit.

Now they appear to be going for the dubular. Mimicking those ads with really obvious foreign language dubs, but not even cutting the camera or hiding their lips with obscure angles.

Problem is. I can't tell if it's a parody anymore.

My mate briefly worked on the account. The TV budget was apparently so tight they they narrowly avoided having to APPEAR in the blumin thing.

So maybe its a cunning meeting or parody with zero budget?

But tell me, those brand power adverts...they are a parody aren't they? Surely!

In other news, look at this penny!

I haven't seen the new ones - surely Barry Scott hasn't been chopped?

David - Sadly not. They are deadly serious!

FnC - His voice is still there, but he no longer takes up the whole ad.

Gemma - Maybe it's semi-parody, where the only possible creative idea they could afford was to send up cheap ads!
